CarboShield was recently used for a bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. 20 for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT)—to repair of the steel piles supporting the bridge over the channel underneath.

Dewatering the area where piles were submerged was not included in the scope of work; therefore, installation of the pile
encasement system without the use of a cofferdam or other heavy-duty large draining system was needed. For this reason, a major point of attraction for the owner was CarboShield’s installation procedure—which does not require on-site commercial diving teams.
