Hamid Sadaatmanesh, PhD

Dr. Hamid Saadatmanesh is a Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Arizona, and CEO of CarboShield, Inc. Dr. Saadatmanesh’s principal field of expertise is in the application of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials in civil engineering—in fact, he is often referred to as the “Carbon Father,” for his longtime work, research and thought leadership. He has pioneered many innovative applications of FRPs in construction and has published over two hundred technical articles on this subject—several of which have received awards from the American Society of Civil Engineers. He has also received a National Science Foundation Award for his work in the utilization of FRPs to repair and retrofit infrastructure. Since 1994, his companies have installed FRP materials in numerous projects including bridges, masonry and concrete buildings, large-diameter pipes, marine front structures, and more.
Ehsan Mahmoudabadi

Dr. Mahmoudabadi is co-creator of CarboShield and, together with Dr. Hamid Sadaatmanesh, holds several patents protecting the unique CarboShield application process. He has a doctorate degree in structural engineering and more than 20 years of experience in engineering design, advanced composite materials testing and evaluation, estimating and materials takeoff. He has superior knowledge of composite materials as they apply to civil infrastructure, both in the engineering of these innovative materials as well as their field applications. He is uniquely qualified to also conduct field testing and quality control of materials and structures.
David Wilburn
Sales Leader
David has been working in the composite and civil construction fields for more than 25 years. He is highly knowledgeable in construction and composite materials as well as construction supervision and management. He also has decades of experience in industrial sales and nearly 15 years within the carbon-fiber structural reinforcement space. David works with CarboShield clients to determine the best solutions for their marine pile repair needs.
Dan Rouhani
General Manager
Dan has a degree in Aerospace Engineering and an MBA. He has scheduled and managed contracts, logistics and supply-line operations for almost 15 years. He has been instrumental in reducing cost and increasing the productivity at CarboShield. Dan is well-versed in the possibilities and approaches of carbon-fiber-reinforcement techniques. He was previously an adjunct professor teaching mathematics for business.
